Enhanced Table Genie System Gives Restaurants Push For Service Option
Addison, TX, April 2008 – Long Range Systems (LRS, Inc), innovation leader of restaurant onsite wireless paging solutions, has upgraded its Table Genie with a technology enhancement that will allow full service restaurants to also use the system.
The Table Genie push for service paging system was originally designed for theater movie grills and nightclubs, and operated on Ultra High Frequency (UHF). Now, the system operates on Radio Frequency (RF) that use 2.4 GHz technology.
2.4 GHz is commonly used in advanced wireless technologies such as high-end computer peripherals (wireless keyboard and mouse), cordless phones, and cell phones. It allows a higher volume of wireless transmission to occur in a small area with virtually no interference.
“We wanted the industry to get the most out of this unique system so we enhanced its performance features”, comments Jim Livingston, LRS Vice President of Sales. Operating on UHF, the original system paged a single server or an entire group. By using 2.4 GHz technology, restaurants that divide wait staff into sections now have the option of programming the system so that a server is paged only when a guest in their section requests service.
“This new technology makes the Table Genie versatile in use”, says Livingston, “As the system can now support more users, restaurateurs will benefit from offering a convenient push for service option to their guests”.
The Table Genie operates in single or three-button mode, and each button can be programmed with a specific message (i.e. service, check please, manager). As guests push the button for service, a server is instantly paged and responds immediately. The system monitors server response time and automatically pages a manager if there is a late response. Restaurateurs benefit as guest satisfaction is enhanced with faster service, resulting in increased food and beverage sales, and quicker table turns.
